Yes, the .ls2 file also contains all the imported models that are used in the scene, and that includes all 4 files per Library model (textures, material settings, thumbnail image and mesh data).

So I suppose it boils down to something like this:
.ls2 = Scene files + all Library files used in the scene.

Hi Morten

Clarrification please,
.ls2 = Scene files + all Library files used in the scene - Library files part of Lumion Free.

re your comment:
Yes, so if your .ls2 scene only uses models from the Lumion Model Library the file size will be small since the .ls2 file contains simple position/rotation/scale references to the models.

However, the .ls2 file size will increase once you add user-imported models and start to modify materials in the scene.

i dont know if the animal library is upgrade with other animals??

Hi arch_bd, Stucki kindly agreed to let us use some new animated animals that he had purchased, but they need to be improved a bit before we can add them. I'm not totally sure when we will have time to do this Smiley

Clarrification please

Good call, I should clarify this - when I say Library files I mean the files in the imported Library folder (as opposed to the built-in Model Library):

.ls2 = Scene files + all imported Library files used in the scene

If your scene contains models from the built-in Model Library they will not be saved as part of the .ls2 file; a simple position/rotation/scale reference is sufficient since those files are already installed.

To expand on the latter, there will only be a single installer for all versions of Lumion (Free, Lumion, Ultimate, Pro), so everyone has the same Model and Material Library. However, there are license limitations that restrict the usage of those models/materials (see the Specifications page).

That being said, you will be able to load a scene made in Ultimate or Pro for example, in Lumion Free, and all models will still show up - you just can't add new "restricted" models to the scene in Lumion Free.

Just purchased "Pro" and I do not see anywhere to download it?
Did you de-activate and register the upgrade key?

I am activated at home currently (a video is rendering).  I am sure it will work once I get home now that I have everything I need.  Thanks for all of your help!

Great!I hope there is gravity in the software. It's more real if we roam in the Lumion.

Hi momoslamdunk, there's currently no gravity or collision in Lumion, so you can only do fly-throughs.

Hi,

When is it possible to have point cache animation supported for the public users to export/import into Lumion?

I am truly impressed with Lumion (Free version), I am willing to buy the Ultimate PRO or anything you got if animation is supported. It is my top priority.

I am tried of rendering many times and wasting a lot of time & money and training in lengthy solutions (in learning Vray! or any other rendering engine! and pay a lot of money as well for a plug in!) and in the end, we waste some 50 or hundreds of Human hours with the following solutions! ( iRAY - Mental Ray - Vray -  (I was using MachStudio GPU this year and company just died recently!) which made me stop doing any 3D work until I found out about Lumion 2 !

seriously guys, animation will open the doors for animation studios to use your engine !I am one of them and just imagine how far this is going! I am not kidding, (the original idea was only architecture, but animation can be next! once the tools become available and ready for users to play with more talents will experiment with Lumion)

I believe a lot of users are hungry already for this feature to become ready ! (I am turning a Vampire myself while writing this)

can you please at least give us an estimate (Engine Technology Road Map if there is any to share) for the possibility to know if it will be available before the end of this year ?

many thanks  Puh

Rest assured the Lumion devs are well aware of the importance of point-cache support.
I could advice you to read between the lines on the above but since it's just a single sentence, it's kinda hard to read between it Wink What happened to the other units btw?

Hi unit102, while I understand your request for a roadmap, the problem is that if a potential customer purchases Lumion on the basis of us promising that feature X will be ready by a certain date, and this promise fails to materialise, it could be interpreted as false marketing.

For that reason, the developers have to wait with announcements until they're 100% certain that a certain feature will be included.

Hi everyone,

Thanks for your honesty and support Morten. That is quiet true, it could be even a sensitive matter if the road map did met the expectation or changed.

I came across a couple companies that had a road map that does not look like what they have been releasing every time (almost 30% only was identical to their road map!)

I will keep my eyes on Lumion update releases.

Thanks Cheesy

So, we'll need to wait for import-option in Free version? (to show off at clients) and without the client having to register etc.

Is there a future-possibility to make a .exe package?

Also, a password or lock is def. needed for these exports!!
We are not planning on sharing the actual project files with customers.. (seems logical enough)

Ps, what comes after Pro? We already had Ultimate..  Wink

Hi J.J. Trienes, the exported .ls2 file can be viewed in Lumion Free 2.2.1+ if your client double-clicks on the .ls2 file, but the "full scene" import/export functions are only included in Lumion Pro:

Thanks for your suggestions. I'd be grateful if you could copy-paste them to the Wish List section, so that they will be read by the right people - otherwise good ideas often "drown" among all the other comments and questions.
