This competition is just foolin itself..not a level playing field at all..they are not sure what the rules mean.....and there are many ways to cheat....not sure what they feel they are accomplishing that furthers arch-vis.

I find the above statement true in most competitions.

So the first entry was timelined in crysis, then he basically hit play and recorded it live?  It's been a while since I've played with that engine.  The camera paths are so smooth I'd be surprised if they were actually controlled live by a user, same applies for the DOF.

Nicolás, nice work there.  Did you animate the sliding doors via 3dsmax and import the FBX?

I read the rules as a strong suggestion to use screen recording, but not a true requirement.  At the end of the day, I think most of us here and hopefully the judges realize my animation closely matched the live capabilities of Lumion.  I guess I could have played the movie scenes within Lumion and recorded that, but then the resolution and AA becomes 'inferior' using the movie player.

Maybe a full screen movie player should make the wishlist...even without AA.  I like the idea of adding effects and showing that to a client without saving the animation.

Yeah. CE3 has a pretty nifty build-in trackview editor so that's how he did this for sure.
I'm not sure he recorded it RT either. He could have just rendered it out in just about
any high-resolution too.

Really? I'm always completely amazed by such statements 
I couldn't disagree more here. The capabilities of Lumion its RT component, meaning either
Build mode where you can't have post-effects, or Theatre mode which slows everything but
a simple scene down to a crawl and produces sub-standard quality screen-recordings at best,
couldn't vary more from it's true excellence in outputting rendered footage. Just my opinion
of course. Also in no means meant to disrespect or discredit your effort (which is superb),
I hope that's clear.

You know you can already do this via Theatre mode?
Just press the play button from within the movie-editor, press the Theatre mode button
and you get a life preview fullscreen, all bells and whistles included.
It's way too slow, has tons of jitter, very mediocre AA but I suppose its still useful 

I reckon the rules have to be adjusted and made a bit more clear.
The nominees show RT as a totally grey broadband where just about anything goes.
This is good for the mixture, bad for a lot of other things.
Since I'm not depending on Lumion for money, I really don't care to submit or not
but I can understand the frustration of someone not entering based upon following the
guidelines then finding out he could have done so anyways because the rules are so
flexibly interpreted, they might have just as well not been there at all.
I feel very sorry for Nicolas!

How did we break any of our rules? All of the nominees used either a real-time app or interface to interact in realtime.
