You dont need such large .dpi numbers. Smiley

I did 5x4 meter displays with a 7500px resolution and they looked wonderful. Some really large billboards on buildings have even less than 75dpi.

In 90% of all cases you wont see any differece using a cubemap with even some blurry reflections vs a acurate reflection on a non-planar surface.

Lumion is still real-time so you have to do a trade-off here between performance and visuals.
If you get proper reflections for all surfaces next question would be how deep will it go?

Imagine a mirror facing a mirror. THis can be really extensive in cimputing.

Yes, I know. It's very hard to find the proper thread I guess.

Never knew you acutally count the +1 stuff.

Okay thanks. This is important news because I overtook a work from someone else where the client now wants the project itself but I argue that its a source file and sources (like 3dsmax files) are not sold to clients but only the resulting movies, pictures.

So its very important that end users cant just start to do their own stuff with the .ls2 files too easy.

Lumion is so easy to use that clients may get the idea to do so. Wink

If you make an .exe with only the needed assets included what the project uses then it would be definitely smaller as if client needs to install 2.2GB lumion plus the .ls2 file with the extra assets in.

Can't the client edit the project himself with his installed Lumion (free) version? .exe file is definitely better. You don't even need an installer....but I repeat myself here like others too.

Effect in build mode are possible with current version too. All you have to do is enter movie mode and then go to theater mode. What's so special about it?

No one will build his project with an enabled Dof or even painting effect except he smokes weed or so lol.

If you used lights then use the chache option for them. it may help. but a better graphic card will help too.

One cool "one more thing" thing would be a simple support for multiple GPU but okay.. Wink

I wonder if Lum3 got released in around 10 days because I could use it to render all the stuff for the Bekerman contest then. This Museum would really benefit from the planar reflections for all participating guys there.

I plan in 5 days for rendering and post so this would be really awesome. It also would be a great showcase if such a contest would be first which features the new version. But I can understand if it done when its done and Lum2 isnt bad. Wink

I was a bit shocked as I just upgraded some mintes ago and the image doesnt show me the 699e discount. I clicked and on avengate i got it for early bird price.

I think this was last time I upgraded. They have to pull out a big rabbit next year and I don't have that much work for realtime at the moment. Adding two new GTX cards to my render cluster and cutting rendertimes more will have more benefit for me.

But all in all its a solid update for lumion 3. So i think its okay. Smiley
